Banking and Finance

Swedbank

Swedbank is a modern bank with its roots firmly anchored in the history of Swedish savings banks. With 7.3 million private customers and 650,000 corporate and organisational customers, Swedbank is Sweden's largest bank in terms of number of customers.

Challenge

As one of Sweden's largest banks, it was important for Swedbank to be at the forefront of technology during the transition from manual to digital processing. To achieve this, Swedbank needed technical expertise that could support the development of the new digital systems and meet the high requirements, not least with regard to security.

Solution

Omegapoint was able to offer its experienced expert consultants to lead technical roles in the development of Swedbank's Mobile and Internet banking. They were also able to offer expertise in a number of business-critical projects such as the card functionality in the Internet Bank, the Security Service, Mobile BankID, Swish and the development of the platform for the new mobile bank.

In addition, Omegapoint was able to contribute with a large number of initiatives on active management and streamlining of development work. They also carried out a number of technical studies as a basis for important strategic decisions on the bank's IT platform.

Result

In Omegapoint, Swedbank has gained a stable and competent partner that has helped them build one of Sweden's most secure and well-developed online banks. Omegapoint has also taken a major responsibility in the competence development and knowledge dissemination of Swedbank's internet banking management, but also in off-shoring and the establishment of its own development centre in the Baltic States. In these cases, Omegapoint has been responsible for the development of training material and exercises and has largely delivered the training.
